Board24 are continuing their investment plans with the recent installation of a new anilox roll for casemaker 2 at Coalville. Providing the benefit of good block coverage, ability to handle tone work and reduced set up times as the roll is considerably easier to maintain.

Over the last decade the standard anilox roll cell configuration has been based around a hexagonal based cell formation all engraved at a 60-degree angle. With the advancement of CTP plate technology, flexographic printers have been longing for advanced cell technology to allow them to reach higher print quality levels, whilst maintaining corporate branded colour consistency, lower dot gain and increased ink transfer.

The new E-FLO cell formations have been developed to allow for faster press speeds with less wear and a higher resistance to doctor blade scoring. E-FLO uses a new spray process called “New Era” this technology has been developed to reduce the brittleness of harder coatings thus reducing chipping which can lead to scorelines.

E-FLO technology is a unique cell structure and combined with a new improved cell angle profile that will provide a more consistent and increased ink lay down. Pamarco uses only the Industry’s most accurate direct and indirect cell analysis and measurement methods to ensure printing standards are consistently met.

Paul Elliott, Conversion Manager at Board24 remarked; “With a customer generated increase in full coverage, SRP designs, we have needed more flexibility on press. Specifically; we can put down three colours with a block transparent, which allows for a dual block print. We also have the confidence to print both solid and tone work on the same printing plate, with it being right first time. The roll also washes down to a high standard in a quick time. Pamarco have supplied a service, second to none.
